Projects & Grants

Full STEAM Ahead!

2018 was a jam-packed year – filled with traditional fundraising events, and a brand new one that helped us raise funds to purchase STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) books and materials for our libraries. Our sole mission is to raise funds for our libraries and we are pleased to announce that 2018 was by far the best in our grant making to the libraries – a total of $48,000!

Additional Seating at Westlake

In April of 2018 funds were granted to create new additional seating at the Westlake library along the back wall.

New Book Drop Box

In February 2018 funds were granted for a new book drop box to be created outside the Westlake library.

3-D Printer for the Maker Space

The 3-D printer has been a hit with youth and adults alike – stationed at the Serramonte library where staff can help people learn how to program the printer and be creative.

Children's Non-Fiction Books

DCPLA, coupled with grants from the Town of Colma and the SFO Rotary were able to contribute $10,000 to purchase books on everything from dinosaurs to rocks and crawly creatures!  The books were spread over the four branch libraries.
